In my introduction to Music Technology course with Professor Konrad Kaczmarek, I decided to create a multitrack recording of Bach/Gounod’s Ave Maria on the Potenciello, an instrument I made the previous semester. This is inspired by Wendy Carlos’s 1968 album Switched-On Bach where Carlos recorded a few of J.S. Bach’s pieces on the Moog Synthesizer on mulitrack tape.

Unlike the original Potenciello, sound synthesis is done in a Max patcher with Joystick data given from the Teensy microcontroller. The Max patchers used are:
